Montana Ale Works is located in downtown Bozeman’s historic Northern Pacific freight building. This historic building has five distinct areas for our guests to enjoy: the bar, the lounges, poolside, railcar, and the outdoor patio.
The Bar is a circular, centrally located, energetic hub of Ale Works. Our professional and friendly staff have consistently earned ‘Best Bar in Bozeman’ honors. It offers 30 seats to enjoy 40+ local spirits and craft brews while you enjoy our locally sourced and inspired menu. Sidle on up—we’ve got room at the bar.
The Lounges are Ale Work’s three core dining areas—East Lounge, West Lounge, and Main St. Lounge. These spaces can accommodate every need, from intimate dining for two, to lively gatherings of ten or more. Enjoy a seat at a high top, low top, or comfy booth to match your mood. The Main St. Lounge can be reserved private parties up to twenty people. Come on in, our lounges are perfect for your group!
Poolside offers spacious corner booth and dozens of high-top tables to accommodate parties of all sizes, from couples to four-tops to large groups. Poolside is a perfect spot to pass long summer evenings (or long cold winter nights) over a frosty pint, a Montana pasture-raised beef burger or steak and… yeah, a locally crafted whiskey.
The Railcar is a local favorite with a historic freight car pulled up to the main dining room, on rails, for opening day, and it never left. One of our most distinctive dining areas, with beautiful sound-proofed fir ceiling, comfy booths overlooking Main Street, and high-top tables fronting the energetic action just off the bar. Enjoy a true Bozeman experience. (Not available for private rental).
The Outdoor Patio is our sunny bar and dining area that's renowned for its hospitality, plus patio-only cocktails, blended margaritas and craft brew specials all summer long! The ultimate casual feel under Montana's Big Sky for those long spring, summer, and early fall evenings. Open seasonally.
