The Northern Pacific Freight House
In 2000, Ale Works opened inside the historic Northern Pacific freight building on East Main — 8,000 square feet of soaring ceilings, exposed brick, and railway bones. The railcar from opening day never left, and neither did the regulars.
Where Hospitality Meets Craft
Co-founders Mark Taché and Christin Cooper brought competitive precision to every system and shift. Chef Roth Jordan, trained across New England and the US Virgin Islands, keeps every dish handmade from scratch — every night.
Fifty Local Suppliers, One Menu
Over fifty local farms and ranches supply the kitchen — including Montana Wagyu Cattle Co. and Gallatin Valley Botanicals. Forty taps pour 95% Montana-made craft beer alongside thirty-plus Montana artisan spirits.
Giving Back to Bozeman
Ale Works partners with the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center, Gallatin Valley Land Trust, Eagle Mount, and Big Sky Youth Empowerment. Staff tours local farms and breweries annually — giving back is built into how the place runs.
